Langkawi Langkawi is a Malaysian island located in the Andaman Sea. It consists of 104 islands, located 30 km northwest of mainland Malaysia. When the seawater is downhill, five more islands come to the surface. It is part of the Malaysian state of Kedah. The total area covered by these islands is 528 square kilometers. One island in the entire archipelago is much larger than all the other islands, and its name is also Langkawi Island.
